Phenomenal music with great instrumentation and positive messages
I was about four years old when I first heard a song by The Staple Singers. I was so impressed, even at that young age.

Just dues
Great old rhythm and blues! On the song,”I’ll Take You There” you almost get the feel of sitting in with the Staples and the awesome Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section.

The Staple Singers will take you there!
There’s something about music that touches the soul and this cd does that and more. It takes you back before rap and disco to the time when a simple groove was just fine.

Truly wonderful material…pre-protest…pre-rap…careful, you might find yourself singing along while experiencing a near uncontrollable urge to boogie…!

Soulful gospel
There are several numbers that don’t really distinguish themselves, but the many that hit, hit hard.

Truly Spiritual Music
In their writing, singing, playing and production, these tracks epitomize love, positivity and soul and simply ooze with groove.

To answer your question..
In answer to another reviewer’s question, ‘Oh happy day’ was done by Edwin Hawkins. But on to the Staples… This cd has some great grooves on it.

This is a great CD, but my boyfriend said that one of the Staple Singers big hits was “Oh Happy Day.” He said that it was made in the early 60’s.
